Born in 1990 and raised in Austin, Juan Martinez grew up in construction and real estate development. His family has worked as builders and general contractors in the Austin area since the 1980s. That upbringing gave him deep roots in Central Texas and an early connection to the people and work behind the built environment. Juan began building homes at 22 and brings experience building more than 16 new single-family homes, alongside his current 4810 E MLK development in East Austin. The projects presented here reflect his personal building and development experience. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2013 with degrees in computer science and mathematics. His work spans homebuilding, software engineering, and HyveCity, the software startup he founded for the people who build. With HyveCity, Juan is working toward a more connected way to plan and build homes: bringing project information, people, and decisions into a clearer view. His ambition is to manage the complexity of development through software, while keeping the home, the site, and the people doing the work at the center. Arcos & Co brings these perspectives together: a family foundation in building, a lifelong connection to Austin, and a software engineer’s approach to solving complex problems. As its founder, Juan is carrying that experience into a focused residential vision for Tarrytown, Westlake, and West Austin.
